DDA says Draw was Foolproof & Fair

Submitted by on Thursday, 12 March 2009No Comment

DDA – Delhi Development Authority finally clears the air by claiming that the DDA Draw 2008 was completely foolproof and fair. Following the instructions of the Urban Development Ministry India, DDA would also begin a high-level internal inquiry of the matter.

The DDA officials conducting the inquiry would be the ones who were not a part of the Draw of lots. On demands of a CBI probe by BJP, Mr. Jaipur Eddy – Union Urban Development Minister added that the possibility of a CBI inquiry is not ruled out but that would take place only after examination of the reports presented by DDA.
DDA breaks its wall of silence over the allegations of possible discrepancies in the DDA Housing Scheme 2008 Draw Results. The DDA officials said that the flats allotment process would involve scrutiny of papers submitted by the successful applicants. Only genuine cases would be handed possession. Adding further, they said, in case of any fake information by any of the candidates, those in the waiting list would automatically be eligible for allotment.

Also DDA housing commissioner Asma Manzar stated that – “The successful applicants who are found to have forged their papers would not be spared. Legal Action would be taken against all such allottees and criminal proceedings will be launched against them,” In case of SC/ ST candidates, they would be personally called and their Caste Certificates would be verified by the issuing authority.

The demand letters to pay the balance amount were to be issued to the DDA Draw winners starting 15 January. DDA official statement says that now the alleged controversy has given birth to a high-level inquiry, the demand letters issuance would be delayed by another month.
