DDA Flats Allotments Frozen

Submitted by on Thursday, 12 March 2009No Comment

Allegation of fraud and discrepancies in the Draw Results surfacing against the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has led the Urban Development Ministry to freeze any physical possession of the DDA Flats to the successful allot tees. Ajay Maken – Honorary Minister of State for Urban Development quoted that no further steps would be taken for allotments unless DDA was cleared of any accusal of fraud and rigging of Draw Results.
The minister further added that a report has been demanded from DDA Vice-Chairman regarding the issue. The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police investigating the supposed scam is yet to clear the chances of foul play. Urban Development Ministry clearly stated that in case large scale irregularities are unearthed against DDA, the entire process would be scrapped and redone afresh.

The current situation of the freezing of all DDA Flats allotments under the Housing Scheme 2008 includes the general as well as reserved category beneficiaries. DDA spokesperson Neemo Dhar announced that the possession letters would not be handed over without proper verification of address proof, PAN Card and other documents. For reserved category beneficiaries, their SC/ST Certificates would be duly verified by the Issuing Authority for furthering the process.
