DDA Flat Scam Investigations lead to Jhunjhunu Rajasthan

EOW (Economic Offenses Wing) of Delhi Police has begun detailed probe into the alleged DDA Flat Scam. Traces of evidences have pointed towards discrepancies in the documents of SC/ ST Category allottees belonging to Jhunjhunu District of Rajasthan in particular.
Special Investigation Teams have been sent to Bharatpur, Kotputli, Udaipur and Jhunjhunu Districts in Rajasthan for further probe into the matter. Around 35% of the total allottees in SC/ ST category belong to these areas. Delhi Police is expecting sufficient leads from the statements of the winners from these districts.
After a leading media house brought forward names of four candidates in the category whose addresses did not exist, doubts pertaining to involvement of certain Property Agents in this act of forgery surfaced. In certain cases, the applicants name and addresses were correct but they had clearly stated that they did not apply for the flats.
The Delhi Police said that they would tally the signature on the application forms with those of these supposed winners and examine their SC, ST certificates as well. The property dealers on whose names the bank drafts were made and loans sanctioned would also be questioned by the IT (Income Tax) Department. Police has also claimed to have identified the printing press where over 1 lakh documents submitted along with the application forms were forged.
