A major fire broke out in western India early today burning down 18 storage warehouses. The damage is estimated in the millions. It’s out of control because there is no water available to fight the flames. Here’s more. A major fire broke out at Kesali Bridge in Maharashtra during the early morning hours of Thursday morning. It engulfed a warehouse and spread to the nearby buildings, destroying around 18 godown storage warehouses. No causalities have been reported but property worth millions of rupees has been damaged. [Girish Jawale, Fireman]: “These godowns are multi purpose godowns. They house both combustible and non-combustible material. I cannot tell you the magnitude of the loss to property but we are trying to extinguish the fire.” Locals say that the fire started as a result of a short circuit. It became so massive because there was no water available to extinguish the fire.
